How soon should we book in for wedding stationery?
As we are often booked out 6 - 12 months in advance we do suggest booking into our studio as soon as you have decided to proceed. Please contact us for our pricing and booking confirmation details.
We are based interstate, or overseas, can you still design and print for us?
Yes of course! We work with couples from right across Australia and overseas as well. For this reason we have as strong online presence and booking and briefing process to ensure that although we are unable to meet in person, we are still able to design and print exquisitely well suited invitations for your day. Working via email we are completely at ease corresponding with our clients from afar.
Can I visit you for an appointment?
Yes you can, but before arranging a time to visit our studio, we will need to ensure our availability for your requirements. Please contact us for more information.
Do you charge to have your invitations custom designed?
For all orders over $1000 our designs are all inclusive. We design a minimum of five custom designed invitations exclusively designed to suit your wedding day. Upon the approval of your final invitation design, we then also include the custom design for the rest of your stationery suite to suit free of charge. For all orders under $1000 we have a $150 design fee for this service.
Whats the difference between one or two colour printing?
Every colour which is printed on our antique letterpress printing presses, require their own set of printing plates, custom ink mixing and press set up. For this reason printing 2 colours takes twice as long as printing one colour. If you like simple, clean, classic and typographic designs one colour would suit well and are a more affordable option. If you prefer more decorative, illustrative or textural invitations we suggest 2 colours.
Please note, printing with ivory ink or a blind impression (no ink) are both counted as two colours as they require two sets of plates and two individual hand feeds through the press.
What type of paper do you use?
We only print on imported 100% cotton rag paper stocks which are thick and lush and especially made for letterpress. Our stocks are available in a 300gsm weight or premium super heavy thick 600gsm weight (price upon application). These beautiful stocks are available in white or ivory. Our papers are environmentally friendly and are made from reclaimed fibres from the textile industry.
Do you have a minimum order run for wedding invitations?
Yes, due to the high costs to have printing plates made and the set up costs involved in letterpress we have a minimum order requirement of 50 units per item.
What Ink Colours do you have available?
We have an extensive library of ink colours available. If you require a specific colour we request that you supply us with a sample (fabric swatch, paint swatch etc) and we can custom mix ink to suit for no extra charge. Our inks are mixed according to the pantone colour system.
What style of designs suit letterpress the best?
The designs which produce the best printed outcomes on the press are those which are classic and elegant. The more ”white space” you leave in a design the better the end printed result. As part of our custom design process we will guide you as to what designs will give you an optimum printed impression on the press.
Can we personalise our invitations with guests names?
No, due to the nature of letterpress printing, and the need to have printing plates engraved - personalisation of guests names to each invitation isn’t possible via letterpress. We suggest utilising our bellybands, or gorgeous scalloped address labels to personalise the invitations with guests names and addresses.
I am a graphic designer, can you print my invitation design?
Yes, we most certainaly can. Contact us for more information regarding our requirements.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
Yes you can visit our Flagship store at our Bowral studio. If you would like to arrange an appointment for a wedding consultation, please contact us to arrange your booking.
How do I become a wholesaler of your letterpress goodies?

I want to do a small print run, can you help?
Technically we could print a small run for you, however small runs with letterpress can be very expensive due to the need for expensive printing plates and press set up. Letterpress print runs are best suited to larger print runs which can absorb this cost.

Yes, you can watch us in action at our Flagship store and Letterpress cafe The Press Shop.
